CO2alition: 2026 program kicks off

CO2alition,, the initiative promoted by NATIVA and the Fondazione per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile, is launching its 2026 program of activities for companies that want to tackle the challenge of climate neutrality together.

Four years after its launch, over 90 companies have joined the movement: the community is now an active forum for discussion, fostering the exchange of best practices and the development of shared solutions.

In 2025, the dialogue was expanded to include experts and technical partners, thereby strengthening the collaborative aspect through the production of guidelines and open-source resources made available to all companies—whether members of the movement or not—to accelerate the transition.

5 Key themes for in-depth discussion

In 2026, the program will again be structured around 5 thematic working groups and will be developed through collaboration with technical partners and international organizations:

- Climate neutrality in corporate bylaws and climate governance: the work will focus on strengthening dual-purpose corporate governance models and on active participation in the working groups of the European Business For A Better Tomorrow network for the implementation of the Green Deal.

In collaboration with Business for a Better Tomorrow

- Carbon Footprint and Emissions Reduction Targets: this roundtable will serve as a forum for companies to discuss the definition and implementation of credible climate targets, featuring updates on key international standards - including the new standards from the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) - and on the technical requirements of standards such as ISO 14068-1:2023.

In collaboration with Bureau Veritas Italia e Science Based Targets Initiative

- Transition away from fossil fuels: the roundtable will explore opportunities related to accessing public funding for the energy transition, analyzing concrete cases throughout the entire process: from identifying calls for proposals to building partnerships, through to project design and reporting.

In collaboration with RSE-Ricerca sul Sistema Energetico Italiano e Lombardy   Energy Cleantech Cluster

- Scope 3- The Value Chain: these activities will focus on strengthening tools for dialogue with the supply chain, with the aim of establishing a common language and shared tools to accelerate decarbonization across the entire value chain.

In collaboration with EcoVadis

- Advocacy and Stewardship: the roundtable will promote the active involvement of companies in advocacy processes by defining an open position aimed at influencing the update of the European Green Public Procurement Directive so that it introduces criteria that reward companies committed to the climate transition.

In collaboration with ECCO Climate Think Tank, Aura Legal SB, Kyoto Club, B Lab Italia

CO2alition is open to all companies wishing to collaborate, exchange ideas, and share information, solutions, and innovations to improve their decarbonization strategies.
